November 23, 2025
Hello from Hansville,
I wanted to post a quick update and—first and foremost—thank you for your patience these past few months. I’ve had to delay Thomas Austin Book Twelve one more time, but this will be the final delay. The book is now scheduled for release at the end of November.
Between several family deaths and emergencies over the last four months, long-planned travel, and a recent illness, life has been unusually chaotic. The good news is that my creative spark is finally back, and the final edits are now moving along really well. I’m excited about how it’s coming together and can’t wait for you to read it.
I also want to say how much I appreciate all the kind notes and emails many of you have sent. I’ve read every single one, even if I haven’t been able to reply personally. Thank you for the encouragement—it meant more than you know.
More updates soon, and thank you again for sticking with me. I’m feeling much better after my illness, so I’ll be back online as usual too.

Soundbooth Theater Update

I’m thrilled to share an update on my collaboration with Soundbooth Theater for The Bones at Point No Point.
Production is wrapping up, and Episode 1 should release on Thursday, November 27th, with new episodes dropping weekly through December 18th.
For anyone who doesn’t know, this isn’t a traditional audiobook—it’s a full cinematic audio experience with a cast of voice actors, original music, and immersive sound effects.
Jeff and Ahmed (pictured above with Pearl in Hansville, WA) from Soundbooth Theater traveled all the way from Kansas City, Missouri to Kitsap County last year to record the real sounds in the local area where The Bones at Point No Point is set.
Like the waves of the Puget Sound, the wooden steps where a pivotal scene happens, and the ferry ride. Even Pearl’s (aka “Run’s”) actual bark, digging, and running sounds. I couldn’t be more excited about how it’s coming together.
I can’t wait for you to experience the story in this completely new way.
Thats all for now,
D.D. Black
